The 72nd Annual Meeting of the Ecological Society of Japan (ESJ72)

Format of the Meeting
The conference will be held in a hybrid format, primarily on-site. The online platform for the conference (hereafter referred to as the "conference platform") will be ONLINE CONF.
- All meeting events except Poster session are held on-site.
- All presentations are to be given on-site. All presentations must be made onsite using the presentation PCs provided at the venue.
- Online presentations are not allowed at the sessions due to technical difficulties. For details, please refer to here.
- Poster session is available for viewing on the conference platform throughout the conference period. Additionally, those who wish may also display their posters on-site.
- The online poster presentation will take the form of a ‘viewing period’ of approximately three days from 12-14 March before the conference. There will be no core time and the opinion exchange forum (video call function) will not be available, but the text chat function will be available.
- Core time will be available for on-site participants.

The status of support for online participation is as follows. Note that question and answer sessions will only be available for ER symposia and open call symposia.

* Although the banquet will not be held as an official event of the conference, we plan to set up a space for socializing at the venue. Please bring your own food and beverages.

Support for Participants
ESJ72 will have a Childcare Room at the venue. We also plan to set up a Family Lounge for use by all participants with families, regardless of whether or not they are using childcare. Please check the Childcare Support page for details.
Promoting Diversity
The Ecological Society of Japan respects diversity. We expect ambitious proposals from researchers of diverse positions, genders and nationalities. Organizers of symposia and workshops should also take into consideration the balance of positions and genders of the organizers and speakers.

Online break room
ESJ72 will have an online break room (SpatialChat) that can be accessed freely by every meeting participant. The room will be accessed via a link within the conference platform (ONLINE CONF). Although there is a limit to the number of people who can connect simultaneously, the room is open anytime during the meeting period. Please feel free to use it to chat with others.
